Holy Sepulchre – Cave of the Cross
Jerusalem
The Cave of the Cross inside the Holy Sepulchre is a hypogean chapel carved into the rock, a place of worship as the place where the True Cross has been found. The opening of some cracks on the rock ceiling required the design of specific strengthening interventions.

Forte Marghera
Mestre (VE), Italy
Forte Marghera is an imposing fortress, built in phases in the first half of XIX century by the Austrians and the French. The project involved the recovery and the seismic improvement of the partially collapsed building 29, and of the two Napoleonic barracks facing the lagoon (building 8 and 9).

St. John Baptist Church and Monastery
Ain Karem, Jerusalem
The complex, located in the area of Ain Karem, near Jerusalem, consists of the Church of St. John the Baptist and the Franciscan monastery. The project involved a first intervention (2015) in the dormitory and a second intervention, in progress, in correspondence with the front and the roofing.

Our Lady of Health Sanctuary
Monteortone, Abano Terme (PD), Italy
The first stage intervention provided the structural reinforcement of walls and vaults, and the overall seismic improvement through the insertion of new steel ties above the vaults. The intervention allowed the disassembly of the safety-shoring placed inside the church.

Dar Al Consul

Dar Al Consul is a stratified big aggregate of buildings inside Jerusalem Old City. The intervention provides to restore the ground floor and the underground spaces, through important excavation activities that have needed specific structural consolidations and strengthening works.

Villa Widmann Borletti
Bagnoli di Sopra (PD), Italy
This Villa, part of the Dominion of Bagnoli di Sopra (PD), was built in 1600 on a project of architect Baldassare Longhena.
The intervention, focused on the lounge room at the noble floor, provided the consolidation of the decorated false ceiling and of the above wooden roof.

Bell Tower of the Church of St. Michael
Candiana (PD), Italy
This project regarded the restoration of the bell tower masonry walls, due to the fall of some bricks.
Furthermore, seismic improvements interventions have been designed, in particular for the belfry by hooping with steel ties.

Historical Building in Haifa
Haifa, Israel
The aim of this project was to add two new floors to an existing masonry building.
A specific study was carried out on the seismic behaviour of the existing historical building and of its interaction with the new added structures, with design of strengthening intervention.
The House of Abbud is an important building located in Acco, a place of worship for the Baha’i religion.
Performed activities regarded the study of the seismic behaviour of the building and the subsequent design of consolidation and seismic improvement interventions.
The church of Santa Savina in Voceto is a small church near Amatrice, with important frescoes dated back to the fifteenth century.
The designed interventions provided specific safety structures to the church that has been strongly damaged by the 2016 earthquake.

Historical Building in Yafo st.
Gerusalemme, Israel
The project involves the restoration of a historic building located in Yafo street in Jerusalem, with a change in use from residential to offices. Activities performed regarded the study of the seismic behaviour and the structural design of seismic improvement interventions.
During the restoration of the historic building of the City Hall, some vulnerabilities were discovered. This required a specific study of seismic behaviour and the design of additional interventions for consolidation and seismic improvement.

St. Eustachio Abbey
Nervesa d. B. (TV), Italy
The Abbey of Sant’Eustachio in Nervesa della Battaglia is a former Benedictine monastery, then abandoned and left in a state of ruin. The project involved the restoration and consolidation of existing masonry walls for the recovery of the area with a museum destination.

Ottoman stone bridge
Be’er Sheva, Israel
The Ottoman-Turkish Railway Bridge was originally built in 1916 across the Be’er-Sheva seasonal watercourse (that becomes a raging river during the winter rains). This arched stone bridge, spanning about 90 meters, was partially destroyed by flooding in 1964. It has been restored and repurposed to serve as a pedestrian walkway across the seasonal watercourse.
The project involved the renovation of an existing building, with consolidation of the masonry walls and renovation of the attic floor and roof.
The project required the study of the seismic behaviour and the design of specific strengthening interventions.

Vicenza, Italy

St. James Buildings
Beit Hanina, East Jerusalem

Sergej Palace
Jerusalem
The Sergei Palace is an important Russian residence in the urban center of Jerusalem. The design of seismic reinforcement devices involved the seismic vulnerability analyses and the design of the new wooden structures of the roof.
This rural building was severely damaged by 2012 Earthquake in Emilia. The project involved the construction of an agritourism. After an initial investigation and analysis phase, repairs to damaged elements and seismic improvement were planned.

St. Filippo and Giacomo Church

The church of St. Filippo and Giacomo is a small church in Vicenza downtown, part of the Bertoliana Library complex. The intervention was developed in two phases, the first in 2011, with the consolidation of the roof, the second, in 2013, with the execution of seismic improvement interventions.
